Today the government announced that from tomorrow the Skilled Occupation List is being replaced by the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
Occupations currently listed on the SOL will remain available for visas that use the SOL as the sole occupation list, i.e. the Skilled Independent (subclass 189), the Graduate Work stream of the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) and the Eligible Relative Nominated stream of the Skilled Regional (Provisional) (subclass 489). For all other visas that use occupation lists, there will be 16 occupations removed from the MLTSSL.
The Consolidated Skilled Occupation List (CSOL) is being replaced by the Short term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL). A total of 200 occupations have been removed from the CSOL affecting applications in the Employer Nomination Scheme (186), Temporary Work (457), Skilled Nominated (190), State/Territory Nominated (489) und Training visa (407).
24 occupations are only eligible for positions in regional Australia (457 and 186 and State Nominated 489).
