Changes to SA State Nomination (s/c 190 and s/c 489)

On the 30st June at 9am, Immigration SA will be temporarily closing their online system for new applications. It will re-open on the 4th July with a new State Nominated Occupation List.

The changes in a nutshell:

From 4/7/2016 onwards offshore applicants for all ICT occupations, which are assessed by the ACS, need to achieve a minimum of 70 points on the DIBP points test.

This is a preliminary measure and will be reviewed in July/August. Depending on the number of applications received by SA, the points score may then be reduced to 65 and later to 60.

Important: This new points requirement does NOT apply for applicants:

  • currently working in a skilled occupation in SA

  • applying under the international graduate of SA category

From 4/7/16 a small number of occupations appearing on the State Nominated Occupation List and Supplementary Skilled List, will only be available for provisional s/c 489 visas. Which occupations will be affected has not yet been announced.

If you would like to avoid the changes and submit your SA State Nomination application before June 30st please contact us for an assessment and a quote.
