Skilled Visas 190/491 – Update on WA Nominations

2/3/2023

To apply for a State nominated skilled visa you must be nominated by a State or Territory such as the Government of Western Australia (WA). State-nominated skilled visas are the permanent Skilled Nominated Visa (s/c 190) or the provisional Skilled Work Regional visa (s/c 491).

In the last few months, WA has received an overwhelming amount of applications for State Nomination. As a result, the Western Australian government has decided to bring forward their invitation rounds, running them in the first week of each month. This will allow the Department sufficient time to process the large volume of applications received. This new procedure will commence in February 2023 and run for the remainder of this current program year.
