UPDATE ON STATE NOMINATED MIGRATION PROGRAM (190/491)

Following the Department’s announcement to reduce the number of places in the state migration program for now, most States have now updated their intake rules for the current financial year:

NT:

  • 190: currently not accepting candidates

  • 491: Open for offshore candidates but only in priority occupations published on the NT website

NSW:

  • 190: Open, but only accepting candidates in few select occupations

  • 491: Remaining closed, but opening soon

ACT:

  • Open and next invitation round to be held before 20st November 23

WA:

  • 190 and 491: Open an accepting offshore applications

TAS:

  • 190 and 491: Open, but only limited opportunities for offshore candidates in select occupations

VIC:

  • 190 and 491: Open and accepting new candidates, 491 applicants must be onshore and currently living in regional Victoria

QLD:

  • 190 and 491: Open and will start inviting candidates from October 2023 in monthly invitation rounds

SA:

  • 190 and 491: Open and accepting new candidates. Only limited opportunities for offshore candidates in highly skilled occupations in demand (Trades, Construction, Education, Science, Social, Health)
